Write your Representative and urge them to sign the Bera-Bucshon Letter to Stop Payment Cuts

The American College of Surgeons is working aggressively to stop Medicare payment cuts scheduled for January 1. To continue to make all surgeons voices heard, the ACS is asking all physicians to reach every Congressional office. If you have already sent a letter via SurgeonsVoice, now is the time to send another one. Thanks to your outreach, the ACS Fellows have contacted Congress more than 10,000 times in the past four months, but the ACS asks that all physicians help to keep the momentum going. The ACS is asking for your help to reach at least 20,000 to ensure Congress feels the pressure to act now to prevent the cuts.

The ACS' latest effort asks that Representatives sign a letter led by some of our longstanding physician champions, Reps. Ami Bera, MD (D-CA-07) and Larry Bucshon, MD, FACS (R-IN-08), to Congressional leadership. This letter urges immediate congressional action to stop the Medicare payment cuts before the end of the year.

This will take less than five minutes of your time. Please visit SurgeonsVoice to write your member of Congress and urge your Representative to sign the letter led by Rep. Ami Bera, MD (D-CA-07) and Rep. Larry Bucshon, MD, FACS (R-IN-08), to prevent cuts to Medicare payment for surgical services.

Your action today to help garner additional congressional support for this important issue is very much appreciated.
